General: Article is new enough and long enough
Policy: Article is sourced, neutral, and free of copyright problems
Hook: Hook has been verified by provided inline citation
QPQ: Done.

Overall: The article could use some minor copyediting; in the Iowa Straw poll section, for example, it says "Quayle, however, downplayed the importance of the poll and compared it to a political machine, where if you have money, you will perform well.[51][57]" This ought to be a quote from him, not "if you have money, you will perform well" in Wikivoice. On the whole, however, I think this is quite a good article, and look forward to seeing it at WP:GAN. jp×g 04:26, 5 October 2021 (UTC)
