Three issues:
  • The lead needs to expand slightly more. I recommend a short paragraph lead for this article, as two sentences are not enough. Please also see WP:LEADCITE with regards to placing citations in the lead section.
  • There are some unreferenced portions here, mainly the last sentence in the lead, the short paragraph in the "Medieval period" section, and the first paragraph in the "Victorian Era" section. Please reference those.
  • The citations are inconsistently formatted; the dates are in three different forms. Please go through them and use one consistent date format.

  • The only one that would be against the DYK rules is the second. The lead is not a priority right now, and the reference format is easily fixable. Crisco 1492 (talk) 11:05, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
  • The Adiga citation has no full reference, so it is rather unusable as is. Crisco 1492 (talk) 11:08, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
  • Article still has issues after a week. Nominator has been editing, so should have had time to deal with this. Crisco 1492 (talk) 06:34, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
Commented out unreferenced paras and formatted some broken references. Still long enough for DYK and referenced enough (18 references). --Redtigerxyz Talk 07:05, 12 October 2011 (UTC)
