SS Nile (1850)

[edit]

The SS Nile

  • ... that one of the passengers of the wrecked steamship SS Nile (pictured) escaped its sinking because he spent too long ashore drinking with a friend?

Article is new enough and long enough. Hook is correctly formatted. (Could be more pithy?) Added pic with free licence. Article is adequately referenced. AGF on offline sources. I think it could be made clearer that it is supposition that she hit The Stones. When that is done it will be good to go. I detected no copyvios or close paraphrasing. @Philafrenzy: Thanks, I don't think there's much doubt that she hit The Stones - at least, no source I've seen questions that fact - but I've tweaked the wording as you suggested. Prioryman (talk) 06:58, 20 April 2015 (UTC)
Since there were no survivors and no external witnesses I think there is plenty of doubt. She could have sunk for other reasons such as a boiler explosion and the wreckage been washed up on The Stones, but that also is speculation. It's fine now. Philafrenzy (talk) 08:33, 20 April 2015 (UTC)
