The Village in the Jungle
[edit]- ... that The Village in the Jungle has been described as "the first novel in English literature to be written from the indigenous point of view rather than the coloniser's"?

- Article is sufficiently long, though only just -- can it be expanded? There seems to be more material in the existing references that could be incorporated, eg the comparison with the much better known Burmese Days. Date checks out. Hook is short enough, sufficiently interesting & supported by reliable reference; I'd suggest "was" might read better as "has been", which would still fit the character limit. Article is neutral, stable & adequately referenced to reliable sources. The quotations should be attributed in the text. QPQ has not been supplied -- could the editor confirm s/he has fewer than 5 DYK credits, please. No close paraphrasing detected in the online print sources.
