Vernon March

[edit]

Victory and Liberty atop the National War Memorial

  • Comment: I expanded this article from a stub. (I put in a photo in February.) I started the expansion on March 22 and finished today March 25. Therefore, I'm listing this under the March 22 date.

Created/expanded by ACP2011 (talk). Self nom at 03:46, 26 March 2012 (UTC)

  • Length and date are ok. But the reference for the hook fact is not really a reliable source, seems to be more of a neighbourhood newsletter. Also, the claim is factually incorrect, there are other monuments such as this. --Soman (talk) 08:54, 27 March 2012 (UTC)
  • Thank you. I'll correct the text for the memorial. I'll also come up with a different hook. Anne (talk) 17:28, 27 March 2012 (UTC)
  • Comment: Highlighting "National War Memorial of Canada" in blue suggests that's its name. I'd suggest highlighting only National War Memorial (its name), replacing "of Canada" with "in Ottawa" (and Ontario, if desired). This is akin to referring to the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. We wouldn't say 'National Gallery of Art of the United States'. The city specifies where it's located, especially helpful in large countries, and implies national identification (any doubt is answered by clicking the city link). • Thank you. I've altered the hook per your suggestion. Anne (talk) 02:06, 22 April 2012 (UTC)
  • I corrected the text in the article. In addition, I changed the hook. Please let me know what you think of it. Thank you. Anne (talk) 17:48, 27 March 2012 (UTC)
  • I separated Vernon March into paragraphs. I'll start working on citations next. Thank you. Anne (talk) 18:11, 27 March 2012 (UTC)
  • 6:20 pm. Need to bring my son to Boy Scouts. I've tracked down all the original Ancestry records and have revised all of the Ancestry references. I will revise the rest of the references for Vernon March later this evening. Thank you. Anne (talk) 23:22, 27 March 2012 (UTC) 6:45 am.
  • Just finished revising the last of the references for Vernon March. It looks like the website for reference #25 is down this morning. I tried it half a dozen times in the past two hours. It's ironic. It's the only citation that I obtained from the original stub! I assume that it's only down temporarily. I'll keep checking intermittently. Thank you. Anne (talk) 11:51, 28 March 2012 (UTC)
  • The website for reference #25 for Vernon March became operational again today. I've revised that reference, which was the only one that was pending. Please let me know whether there's anything else I need to do for Vernon's article. Thank you. Anne (talk) 19:10, 29 March 2012 (UTC)
  • All of Vernon March's citations have been revised. Just let me know what else you need. Thank you. Anne (talk) 04:38, 1 April 2012 (UTC)
  • Congrats on your 5th DYK yesterday, ACP2011. QPQ review, please. --PFHLai (talk) 08:25, 3 April 2012 (UTC)
  • Thank you. Anne (talk) 16:24, 5 April 2012 (UTC)
  • PFHlai means you need to review another article. Crisco 1492 (talk) 07:41, 6 April 2012 (UTC)
  • I'm still pretty new to Wikipedia. How does one become a Wikipedia reviewer? Also, do you mean review any article, or just one that has been nominated for DYK? Thank you. Anne (talk) 17:03, 8 April 2012 (UTC)
  • Thank you for letting me know that I don't need an article review for this nom. I'll use it instead for a new article nom. Anne (talk) 22:13, 15 April 2012 (UTC)
