{{Infobox Italian comune}} can be used for adding at-a-glance information to articles about comuni in Italy. This template should be used instead of {{Infobox settlement}} in articles about Italian comuni. It should not be used for a subdivision of a comune, such as a frazione, quartiere, circoscrizione, località, terziere, sestiere, contrada, or historical location that was never a comune. These other divisions can use {{Frazione}} or the more general Infobox settlement.

Required parameters marked with an asterisk (*). Double asterisk (**) indicates that one of the two parameters is required, but not both; the exception to this is uses of the infobox on comuni in the Aosta Valley, which contains no provinces or metropolitan cities.
