Template {{This is a redirect}} may be used to add from one to seven rcat templates, along with their parameters and categories, to a redirect. For more information see the documentation page below.

When used by itself:

  • This is a redirect from a word or phrase that specifies gender to one that is either gender-neutral or specific to the opposite gender. For more information follow the bold category link.

Use this rcat template on mainspace redirects only.
#REDIRECT [[(target article title)]]

{{Redr|from gender}}
Template {{Redr}} is an alias for the This is a redirect template, which may be used to add up to seven appropriate rcats, along with their parameters, to a redirect. For more information see the documentation on its template page and its comparison page. This rcat may also tag a redirect individually:
#REDIRECT [[(target article title)]]

{{R from gender}}
This is in accord with instructions found at WP:REDCAT.
  • Use this rcat on all mainspace redirects from a word or phrase that specifies a gender, to one that is either gender-neutral, or specific to the other gender.
  • Most of these redirects are considered printworthy, so this rcat also populates Category:Printworthy redirects by default. There are some types that are not considered printworthy, such as standard plurals like Ballerinos. When you add this rcat to a redirect that you decide is unprintworthy, then use the first parameter to subdue the Printworthy category in the following manner:
{{Redr|from gender|p1=unprintworthy}}
or if used individually:
{{R from gender|unprintworthy}}
That subdues the Printworthy category and adds the redirect to Category:Unprintworthy redirects.
