Purpose[edit]

This template provides information about the top ten badminton players for singles and doubles rankings. It should be placed on the player's article if he or she is included in the list. This template should be removed from the article of any player who ceases to be in any of the top ten rankings.

This template should be updated weekly (typically on Thursday) with the latest rankings. For updates see: bwfbadminton.org

Usage[edit]

To include this template in a player's article, use:

  1. If the player appears in the BWF men's singles ranking:
    {{Top ten badminton players|MS}}
  2. If the player appears in the BWF women's singles ranking:
    {{Top ten badminton players|WS}}
  3. If the player appears in the BWF men's doubles ranking:
    {{Top ten badminton players|MD}}
  4. If the player appears in the BWF women's doubles ranking:
    {{Top ten badminton players|WD}}
  5. If the player appears in the BWF mixed doubles ranking:
    {{Top ten badminton players|MxD}}

Initial visibility

To set the template's initial visibility, the |state= parameter may be used:

  • |state=collapsed: {{Top ten badminton players|state=collapsed}} to show the template collapsed, i.e., hidden apart from its title bar
  • |state=expanded: {{Top ten badminton players|state=expanded}} to show the template expanded, i.e., fully visible
  • |state=autocollapse: {{Top ten badminton players|state=autocollapse}}
    • shows the template collapsed to the title bar if there is a {{navbar}}, a {{sidebar}}, or some other table on the page with the collapsible attribute
    • shows the template in its expanded state if there are no other collapsible items on the page
If the |state= parameter is not set, the template's initial visibility is taken from the |default= parameter in the template. For this template, that currently evaluates to autocollapse.
