Usage
NOTE: This template is used to tag articles as belonging to the scope of the Wikipedia:Tambayan Philippines, which is a WikiProject/regional-noticeboard for articles related to the Philippines, and to assess and rate such articles for quality and importance. Its main category is Category:WikiProject Philippines articles. See the Tambayan Philippines assessment department for instructions and details.
The {{WikiProject Tambayan Philippines}} project banner template should be added (not subst:ed) to the talk page of every article within the scope of the project. While the template does not require any additional parameters, it has a number of optional ones that help WikiProject Philippines evaluate the quality of articles. Note that the template accepts Y
or y
values in addition to a yes
value. The full syntax is as follows:
{{WikiProject Tambayan Philippines
|class=
|importance=
|attention=
|needs-infobox=
}}
A more compact version with the most commonly used parameters is as follows:
{{WikiProject Tambayan Philippines|class=|importance=}}
Task forces
- history - Set
|history=yes
to add the article to Philippine history task force - history-importance - Sets a separate importance value for the specific task force
- politics - Will be assessed in the politics task force.
- politics-importance - Will assess the importance of the article for the politics task force.
Optional parameters
- class – valid values are fa, a, ga, b, c, start, stub, fl, list, na (case-insensitive). See the project's quality scale for details. Setting an explicit value of NA is rarely necessary; for this, either leave
|class=
blank or omit the parameter. - importance – valid values are: top, high, mid, low, na (case-insensitive). See the project's importance scale for details. Setting an explicit value of NA is rarely necessary; for this, either leave
|importance=
blank or omit the parameter. - listas – This parameter, which is the equivalent of the DEFAULTSORT sortkey that should be placed on all biographical articles, is a sortkey for the article talk page (e.g. for Jose Rizal, use
|listas=Rizal, Jose
so that the talk page will show up in the R's and not the J's of the various assessment and administrative categories). This is important because it is one source used by those who set DEFAULTSORT on the article; consider also setting the DEFAULTSORT for the article when setting this parameter. For more information about this, please see Wikipedia:Categorization of people § Ordering names in a category.
If the article is using {{WikiProject banner shell}} then it is preferable to add|listas=
to that template instead of a project banner template. Putting the parameter on more than one template is not required. - category – set
|category=no
if, and only if, a banner is being used for demonstration or testing purposes, to prevent unnecessary or undesirable categorization. Otherwise, omit this parameter. - needs-image – set
|needs-image=yes
to request that a picture or pictures be included in the article to improve its quality.- This parameter populates Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in the Philippines.
- attention - Will mark the article as needing immediate attention
- needs-infobox – Will display a notice on the article talk page if the article either has no infobox or has an outdated or subst:ed one. Values accepted are:
- "yes" if the article is missing an appropriate infobox
- "new" if it has an old or subst:ed infobox that need to be replaced with the current one
Multiple projects
If there are three or more project banners for an article, use {{WikiProject banner shell}} to encapsulate all the project banners.
{{WikiProject banner shell|1=
{{WikiProject Tambayan Philippines|class=|importance=}}
{{WikiProject Politics|class=|importance=}}
}}
Also, if the article is considered a biography of a living person, use the "|blp=yes" parameter.
