Interwiki

[edit]

Please, add sl:Predloga:Zapomen2. Thanks a lot. --Eleassar my talk 13:46, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Done – although the template page itself doesn't appear to be protected, so I've now semi-protected it. Regards, David Kernow (talk) 14:23, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Linking

[edit]

Someone want to document the slight fact that the second argument no longer automatically links? --Gadget850 ( Ed) 13:22, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind, I'll just use for and strike this one from my cheat list. --Gadget850 ( Ed) 13:27, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That is strange. I don't even understand why someone would want to use this template rather than For which does exactly the same thing except links automatically. Nearly five hundred pages use this template; who knows how many of those no one has manually linked. Oh well.

This template can be used to hide the anchor of an anchored link using the pipe trick. This is in accordance with WP:LINKING, but is not possible using any template that automatically links. The fact that this template doesn't automatically link is its great strength. -- EdJogg (talk) 20:26, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

TfD

[edit]
Stale
 – Template is not redundant with {{For}}, so this is moot.

{{editsemiprotected}}

Can someone file a tfd for this?

In the tfd, my reason is:

Superceded by {{for}}.174.3.98.236 (talk) 04:03, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: Anons can file XFDs. If you need something specific inserted into this page, you can use the {{editsemiprotected}}. Celestra (talk) 14:30, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Multiple targets

[edit]

I've upgraded this to handle up to three pairs of parameters. See documentation, and usage (with two pair) at top of Wikipedia:"In popular culture" content. I was also especially nice, and allowed it to handle a third parameter, unpaired with a fourth, as an "and {{{3}}}" after {{{2}}}, though I didn't bother documenting this, since the same thing can be done by putting both targets in {{{2}}}.  — SMcCandlish ¢ ≽ʌⱷ҅ʌ≼  06:55, 14 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@SMcCandlish: At least in some instances, the linking in now broken completely, e. g. Date format by country. 213.87.133.45 (talk) 21:49, 14 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Nope. That's people not reading the template documentation. This template does not auto-link (use {{For}} for that). This template's format is {{For2|TOPIC|[[Example article]]|...}}, not {{For2|TOPIC|Example article|...}}. I fixed the template call at the article you mentioned.  — SMcCandlish ¢ ≽ʌⱷ҅ʌ≼  21:17, 19 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Renaming

[edit]

I'm proposing renaming this template as part of a broader move to rename some hatnote templates for clarity. Please participate in the discussion at Wikipedia talk:Hatnotes#Template renaming for clarity. Thanks, {{Nihiltres |talk |edits}} 22:20, 16 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
