Update

[edit]

Hmm... this looks like it's in need of an update. Regret Tenenbaum (talk) 05:01, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How so? --Midnightdreary (talk) 13:20, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It's just... really...hmm (trying to think of the right word)... unimpressive. Would anyone mind if I tried my hand at re-doing it? I'll try it out on my sandbox. -Regret Tenenbaum (talk) 00:46, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure who we're trying to impress. Are you even a member of this project? You aren't listed as a participant. --Midnightdreary (talk) 12:30, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
If you're going to be a dick about it then I guess i'll just stop trying to be helpful. Regret Tenenbaum (talk) 04:08, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Wow. Okay, that was a bit uncalled for. I was just curious what your interest was. --Midnightdreary (talk) 12:43, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm only trying to help. (And please excuse my earlier comment, that was very uncalled for an insanely immature on my part. I hope you can forgive me for typing before I thought about what I was doing.) Regret Tenenbaum (talk) 19:04, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed and redid the userbox

[edit]

I took it upon myself to be bold and fix what was a rather unimpressive userbox.

  • Changed the colour scheme because black text, blue link on a teal background made the text unreadable.
  • Using a beach sunset picture didn't have a direct connection with poetry and was more fitting a littoral wikiproject. So I replaced the image with that of a pen and paper that is used on the Writing article.

Hopefully y'all agree. --ColonelHenry (talk) 23:16, 24 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I like it. Great work. --Midnightdreary (talk) 02:29, 25 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I saw the comments above and wasn't sure if it would be well received. :) --ColonelHenry (talk) 02:36, 25 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@ColonelHenry: I love everything but the red text for the link. Is there any way we can have a more friendly color that doesn't look like a broken or missing link? I hovered over it with popups when I first saw it to make sure it was linking to the page. ;) Rosario Berganza 21:40, 5 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I've made the link blue for my own userpage, so no big deal. Rosario Berganza 21:45, 5 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Rosario Berganza: - I chose red because--the muted earth tones, ecru, and black seem to match with it, and because red made the userbox stand out in an area where everyone else relies on a blue link. In a macabre fashion I'd like to believe I was thinking of poets writing in blood. I would prefer not to use blue--though I do acknowledge that it could be misconstrued as a broken/missing link in red. What would you recommend?--ColonelHenry (talk) 21:47, 5 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I've switched to Sapphire for mine, just to make it a little more normal-looking for me, but that's just my pref. Maybe a different/darker shade of red, crimson, etc? The macabre idea reminds me of Sergei Yesenin, who supposedly wrote his final poem in blood. Rosario Berganza 21:58, 5 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Actually the crimson they show on the color list is terrible. Maybe something like burgundy, carmine, or red devil? Rosario Berganza 22:01, 5 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Went with burgundy. Good catching that. I hadn't thought about appearance as a broken link.--ColonelHenry (talk) 22:08, 5 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, burgundy is much better. Rosario Berganza 22:13, 5 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
