State Highway 185 or SH 185 is a Texas state highway that runs from Victoria southeast to the Gulf of Mexico at Port O'Connor.
History
The route was originally designated by 1933 from Seadrift northwest to a connection with then-SH 57 (now SH 35). By 1939, the route was extended to Port O'Connor, replacing a portion of SH 29. In 1990, the route was extended north to Victoria, replacing Farm to Market Road 404.
FM 404 was designated on June 12, 1945 from SH 35 at Green Lake to the Victoria County Line. On July 9, 1945, FM 404 extended to Victoria. It remained that way until August 29, 1990, when it was cancelled and transferred to SH 185.
