Cindy Gomez | Singer | Canada | "I always wanted to be a hybrid," says Cindy Gomez. But although she means that her pulsing songs reflect her diverse tastes for electronic pop, urban and rock music, she could just as easily be talking about her multi-lingual, multi-ethnic background – or her multimedia, multi-platform, tech-savvy introduction to the world.
The pioneering Cindy became the first artist to make her debut in a mobile game, "Dance Fabulous" on N-Gage by Nokia, through collaboration between the Finnish handset manufacturer and Interscope Records in late spring of 2009. The game included a dancing Gomez avatar and five of her songs, which positioned her at the forefront of a trend that marries music with mobile entertainment. Raised in suburban Toronto, Cindy is of Colombian and Belgian descent. Her grandmother on her father's side sang opera and played piano, lending young Cindy early exposure to a variety of musical styles that also included classical music, Spanish songs and Edith Piaf records. "When I was eight years old, I told my father that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life," she says. As Cindy matured, a series of modeling gigs led her to win the title of Miss Latin Canada. As a result, she landed opportunities to sing on Spanish-language television shows in Canada and Mexico, all the while attending university and working a day job in Toronto. Cindy has collaborated with many of the world's top songwriters and producers such as Dave Stewart, Desmond Child (Ricky Martin's "Living La Vida Loca", Bon Jovi's "Living on a Prayer", Katy Perry's "Waking up in Vegas"..etc.) Andreas Carlsson (NSync "Bye Bye Bye"..etc.), amongst many others. Cindy has been featured in various publications such as Macleans, FHM Singapore, Prestige Magazine France, Elle Magazine, Dubai's Velvet Magazine, La Guia, Zink Magazine and Fast Company. For the record, Cindy can sing in eight tongues: English, French, Spanish, Italian, Latin, Hindi, Cantonese and Mandarin. |
Justin Bratton | Actor/Host/Model | Singapore | Justin Bratton is an established host, actor, model, and film-maker based in the Asia-Pacific Region. Of American and Burmese descent, Justin has had a somewhat unorthodox journey from his native Texas to the entertainment world of Asia. After graduating from the University of Texas with a double degree in Communications and Hispanic Studies, he deferred a corporate career in order to travel and explore the world.
His off-beat adventures took him first to Mexico where he played semi-professional soccer and then on to Australia where he was employed as a door to door salesmen. He then travelled North, backpacking through Southeast Asia and working as an English teacher in Thailand before finally arriving in Singapore, where a local friend persuaded him to try modeling. Although he was somewhat reluctant at first, the rest is of course history, as Justin built up an extensive portfolio of TV commercials and campaigns while modeling across the region. He recently hosted Miss Earth 2014 that was held in Manila, Philippines. Through his successful TV commercial career, Justin discovered a love for film, and expanded his skills to include writing, directing, producing, as well as acting. Having established himself as an independent film-maker, he has created his own artistic work such as Cupid and The Princess and acted in films such as Art of Living, Inertia and the critically acclaimed Final Recipe. Recently Justin returned to his backpacking roots to host Heineken's award winning series The Passport, traveling solo from Inner Mongolia to Bangkok using nothing but beer as currency. Although only recently arrived back in Singapore, Justin is already busy with several projects – starring in FZD media's new film Tesseract, shooting for publications such as Surface Asia, August Man, L'Officiel, as well as guest hosting on Cinemax's E-Pad with fellow Collective member Oli Pettigrew and hosting BMW's X-Drive Island. |
