Synbot is short for synthesis bot. This type of bot mimics characteristics, provenly at least appearance, of real humans.
An instance of a synbot is constructed by first sampling the target by the means of 3D scanning and photography and creating a 3D model based on the samples, applying statistical information and approximations. Synthesis with an actor and suitable algorithms is applied using powerful computers. The actors' part in the synthesis is to take care of mimicking human expressions in still picture synbots and also human movement in motion picture synbots. Algorithms are needed to simulate laws of physics and physiology and to map the model and it's appearance and movements accordingly.
Threats and dangers posed by synbots

[edit]The threat synbots cause for the majority of human kind is likely not in that they would targeted by real synbot attacks.
Instead for most people the most imminent threat is that just grasping or understanding the fundamentals of synbots in itself allows practically anyone to conjure up scenarios of how destructive people might use these as weapons against people if they had access to the technology, know-how and resources to make synbots of people.
By playing mind games with the mere idea synbots a person will likely do psychological and emotional damage to her or himself regardless of whether s/he is imagining someone else being hit with these or self becoming a target or a combination of the previous. Unfortunately it is difficult to stop anyone from using her or his imagination to do harm to anyone and thus damaging the well being of themselves and others.
Being targeted by a synbot attack
[edit]- You might see images, moving or still, that are not real i.e. give false account.
- Others might see images that are not real.
- Since synbots are not restricted by the laws of physics they can travel backwards in time by modeling the target(s) as younger.
- Due to the previous synbots can make make believe images of people that are dead, thus have a potential of wrecking the memory of someone, the most concrete thing there is left here of someone when s/he has left us.
