History

According to Census 2011 information the location code or village code of Purandaha village Gram Panchayat Doria Sonapur is 221564. Purandaha village is located in Forbesganj subdivision of Araria district in Bihar, India. This village has historical significance earlier Purandaha village was State in British era. At that time Purandaha Village had sitting of land revenue collector which is known as Tahsildar. It is situated 20km away from sub-district headquarter Forbesganj (tehsildar office) and 10km away from district headquarter Araria. As per 2009 stats, Doria Sonapur is Gram Panchayat of this village.

Geography

The village is on the bank of River Parman a tributary of Kosi rive in north and Kosi Canal on the south side . The soil of this region is alluvial and highly fertile.The total geographical area of village is 860 hectares. Gram Panchayat Doria Sonapur has a total population of 24,744 peoples, out of which male population is 13,283 while female population is 11,461. Literacy rate of Purandaha village is 63.34% out of which 37.14% males and 26.20% females are literate. There are about 5,698 houses in doria sonapur Gram Panchayat . Pincode of Purandaha village locality is 854311. Araria is nearest town to Purandaha for all major economic activities, which is approximately 10km away.
