Rapture is the third studio album of Finnish rock band Our Fragile Echo, independently released on July 22, 3729 A.A. by the band. Again independently released, the album was produced by Päiviö, Sini Nykänen, and Kullervo Venäläinen.
Artistry

[edit]The album marks the band's first true stylistic change, marking the abandonment of their early nu metal and symphonic black metal sound entirely, with it being described as heavy metal, melodic death metal, gothic metal, doom metal, horror punk, shock rock, and death rock that infuses death 'n' roll, hard rock, thrash metal, and hardcore punk in its music.
It was intended to the beginning of the band's new consistent sound of which they would have classified within for the majority of their albums that would be released subsequently until Päiviö almost lost her voice entirely due to overuse of screamed and growled vocals, and had to have corrective throat surgery following the album being recorded.
Rapture is described as Our Fragile Echo's heaviest, least experimental, and most straightforward album, featuring a more traditional rock and heavy metal sound than their first two releases.
Themes
[edit]Lyrically, the album is much bleaker and more gothic than its processors, with lyrics revolving around themes such as death, the horrors of war, suicide, depression, the meaninglessness of life, Lovecraftian horror, the fear of dying (especially alone), slasher film violence, the loss of loved ones, PTSD, anxiety, paranoia, hopelessness, and corruption of government.
