Wendell Nascimento Borges (born 20 July 1993),[1] commonly known as Wendell or his nickname Wendellidogg is a Brazilian footballer who plays as a left back for English club Liverpool.

Club career[edit]

AC Milan[edit]

In 2011, Wendell played for AC Milan scoring 2 goals in 47 games and made great friends with manager Massimiliano Allegri and teammates Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Alexandre Pato. In an interview, Wendell claimed that teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic sat him down and said, "You will be great player, but you will never be as good as Zlatan."

Paris Sant-Germain[edit]

Wendell was on loan for most of time at Paris Saint-Germain but he still played 4 games with 0 goals for them but had a vital goal line clearance in the 89th minute to win them the UEFA Super Cup in early 2012.

Loan to Celtic[edit]

Wendell played 15 games in his loan spell at Celtic scoring a mere 1 goal in a friendly against Liverpool in a 2-1 defeat.

Loan to West Ham United[edit]

Wendell only played 1 game for West Ham United getting a vital assist to guarantee them UEFA Europa League football.

Bayer Leverkusen[edit]

When Wendell signed for the german he was converted into a left midfielder that can also play left back. While playing 68 games and getting 14 assists he only got 1 goal but played a huge part in the 2013/14 Bundesliga season coming 3rd in the league.

Liverpool[edit]

Wendell signed for Liverpool on 10 January 2015 for a fee of around £8 million by former manager Brendan Rodgers

His debut for the reds saw him come on in the 76th minute in a 2-0 win away against Swansea City in the Premier League. Wendell's first goal was the only goal in a in a 2-1 loss away against Chelsea in 2015

2015[edit]

Wendell wasn't on his top form for the reds in the UEFA Champions League but in the league he had an average season playing 13 games for them

=2015/16[edit]

Wendell was Liverpool's second best player of the year behind best friend Phillipe Coutinho getting 2 goals and numerous assists but only finishing 8th in the league.
