El Mahdi bin Muhammad SAIDI Al-Ilghi Ph.D. is a Moroccan intellectual, a teacher at Ibn Zohr university in Agadir, and an author. he is a specialist in Moroccan literature and is interested in the heritage of the Islamic West, he was born on 28 September 1966, in Dougadir-Ilgh, near Tafraout, Tiznit province. He also has a twitter page with over 6k followers where he discusses cultural matters and moroccan culture related subjects.

His studies

El Mahdi SAIDI started his studies in Taroudant, where he obtained his baccalaureate in the year 1984, a bachelor’s degree in 1988 within the first cohort of the Faculty of literature and human science in Agadir, then he got his post-graduate Diploma from the Faculty of literature, Mohammed V University, Rabat, 1989, and a higher studies diploma from the same college in 1995 and got a "state doctorate" from the Faculty of literature in Agadir in 2002. He also masters 5 languages : Arabic, French, Spanish, Amazigh Souss, English.

  • Member of the Scientific Committee for Translating the Meanings of the Noble Qur’an into the Susian Amazigh Language. Former member of the Regional Committee for the Hassan II Prize for Manuscripts.
  • Member of the regional committee for ancient education in the region of Souss-Massa-Draa.
  • Member of the research team in the Susian heritage at the Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences in Agadir.
  • Member of Al-Ghad Literary Club in Taroudant. - Member of the Ibn Tumart Center for Studies, Publishing and Documentation in Agadir. - Member of the Moroccan Association for Trip Research.
  • Producer and presenter of the program "Olama N Tamazert" (The Scholars of My Country) in Susian Amazigh "Tashelhit" on the national radio, the Tashelhit department (in more than 100 episodes).
  • Participant in several radio programs: Al-Watania in Rabat, Mohammed VI for the Holy Quran, Radio Tangier, Radio Fez, Radio Marrakesh, Radio Oujda, Amazigh Radio in Rabat, Regional Radio in Agadir, Regional Radio in Laayoune, MFM Souss, MFM Casablanca, Radio Plus Agadir, the Amazigh channel, the sixth, the second channel, a participant in the two programs “Islamic Issues” and “Al-Zad”, in the Amazigh language.
  • Facilitator of the training course on purposeful educational evaluation, the basis for the rehabilitation of ancient education, which was organized by the Directorate of Antique Education at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in coordination with the Regional Delegation for Islamic Affairs of the Souss-Massa-Draa region, for the benefit of teachers of ancient education institutions in the regions of Souss-Massa-Draa and Guelmim-Smara in the city of Agadir on 06-07 days. 08 February 2007.
  • Member of the Organizing Committee for the Symposium on Islamic Heritage in Souss, organized by the Islamic Studies Division of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities in Agadir, November 25-27, 1999.
  • Coordinator of the symposium of scientific families in Souss, organized in cooperation between the Research Group in Sousse Arabic Literature and the Urban Council of the city of Tiznit on December 20-21-22, 2002. Its work was published in the group's publications in 2003.
  • Coordinator of the Souss Scholars series issued in the summer of 2003 in cooperation between the Sussian Research Group in Arabic Literature and the Al-Alam newspaper, which included translations of more than 60 Sussian scholars in the twentieth century throughout July, August and September 2003.

  • Supervisor and discussant of license research and research theses for in-depth graduate studies diploma and doctorate on ancient Arabic literature, Moroccan literature, Soussi literature, history, social and anthropological studies on southern Morocco in the Sahara regions, Souss and Draa.
