K.C. Palanisamy(Born 1959) is a politician and public figure in India. He has influence many major political districts in western Tamil Nadu. He supports hometown district of Tirripur Karur, Dindigul and Nilgiri. He has been elected twice representing the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), once as a member of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly and once as an Indian Member of Parliament. He currently lives in Coimbatore.

Palanisamy was born in Chennimalai. He moved to Coimbatore to study at the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, where he graduated with a degree in Agricultural Engineering. He still frequently visits the TNAU campus. Palanisamy entered politics at a young age. His first major political position was deputy district secretary of the AIADMK party youth wing. Eventually he had enough experience to run for the Tamil Nadu Legislative assembly under the guidance of the late M. G. Ramachandran. He continued his political relationship with MGR until his death in 1987. Palanisamy still follows J. Jayalalitha, the current AIADMK leader.

In 1984, He ran in the Kangeyam constituency for a seat in the Tamil Nadu. He won by 17.85% of total valid votes over the DMK’s M. Sivasabapathy. At that time he was considered one of the youngest politicians to be elected as an MLA. In 1989, Palanisamy continued to represent AIADMK, but this time for the 9th Lok Sabha in the Tiruchengode constituency. He won with 33.73% more valid votes than the runner up Poongothi Thirumathi C of the DMK.
