American R&B singer LeToya is currently working on her second studio album which was scheduled to be released on June 10 2008 through Capitol Music Group.[1]However, the album was postponed several times due to Capitol Records financial seizure, but when the merge with Virgin was finally completed, the label could stabilish itself financially. Even Luckett's management stated that risking releasing her album too early could risk Luckett's career, like what happened with Cherish's second studio album, that had no general promotion and went on to have poor first week of sales. So far LeToya has recorded enough material for two albums, but the label want to assure that it will have the right appeal. Recently, many rumors surfaced telling that LeToya is working with her former bandmate, Beyoncé Knowles, in a duet. [2]

Production[edit]

After the release of Obvious, Capitol Records went on fusion process with Virgin, initially only Virgin had financial problems, so EMI decided freeze both of them bank accounts to prevent a bankruptcy, so any released single at this momment would have no promotion. LeToya and her management thend decided on going on studio to record new material for new album.

LeToya gave a preview to the new album while opening for Mary J. Blige in Salinas, California, by performing the new songs "Lady Love" and "Don't Let Me Get Away". Her official DJ, DJ Rodgers, announced during the performance the songs were from the new album called, "Lady Love", but the official title has yet to be confirmed. Not much is known about the overall for the album, but LeToya says it will have an 80's influence in some of the songs.[3] American record producer, Diddy was so impressed with her new material, he invited LeToya to have a cameo in his "Diddy Rock" video. [4]

On December 10, 2007 a buzz single, Swagger, that features rappers such as Slim Thug, Killa Kyleon and Bun B leaked onto internet through Luckett's official fansite, surprisingly the song makes a reference of Beyoncé's song, Upgrade U. Now is is known that the song will be included on the album as a bonus track.
