  • Comment: Fails WP:NCOMPANY - lacks WP:CORPDEPTH. Trustpilot is not a measure of notability nor is a one-off customer complaint. Being an approver dealer doesn't make them notable either. Dan arndt (talk) 05:26, 29 July 2024 (UTC)

Mytyres.co.uk

[edit]

Mytyres.co.uk is an online tyre shop owned by Delticom Ltd., a subsidiary of Delticom AG, a German company operating in the United Kingdom.[1]

Launched in August 2001, it was the first online tyre shop in a non-German speaking country.

The shop specializes in selling tyres for various vehicles, including passenger cars, motorcycles, trucks, light commercial vehicles, off-road and 4x4 vehicles etc. It also offers rims, wheel and tyre packages, and other car-related products such as spare parts, motor oils, and catalytic converters. The shop provides a range of specialized tyres, such as those for vintage cars, earthmovers, and excavators.

Mytyres.co.uk collaborates with professional partner garages across the UK, that provide professional fitting. In recent years, Mytyres.co.uk has been estimated to have the revenue of $5.1 million (2023).[2]

Mytyres.co.uk is an approved dealer of Michelin[3] and Continental[4].

Projects

[edit]

In 2015, Delticom/Mytyres.co.uk, with the help of Continental, organized a five-day off-road safari adventure in Namibia. Participants, who won the experience through an online competition on the website, embarked on the journey from Frankfurt Airport. The tour covered diverse landscapes including Windhoek, Swakopmund, and the Naukluft National Park, with their deserts, steppes, and dunes, providing various challenges to test off-road tyres[5].

In 2017, Delticom/Mytyres.co.uk and Continental organized another online competition where the winners received a Land Rover Experience trip to Iceland. A group of 16 travellers from across Europe went on a six-day journey, facing the ultimate off-road challenges in Iceland's wild landscapes. The tour covered diverse terrains, including lava fields and glaciers.[6]

In April 2018, there was a competition from Delticom/Mytyres.co.uk where 15 winners received a trip to the Tour de France final in Paris. A group of 15 winners from across Europe had their travel and accommodation costs covered by the shop and were present at the cycling race final on the Champs-Élysées.[7]

[edit]

In 2018, the shop was involved in a legal dispute. A customer, identified as TC from Oxted, Surrey, discovered a fault in one of the tyres and had it confirmed by a specialist. Mytyres.co.uk agreed to replace the faulty tyre but required TC to sign a form agreeing to pay for the replacement if the manufacturer did not cover it. TC refused, believing that signing the form would waive rights under the Consumer Rights Act. Despite receiving the replacement tyre and a refund for the independent report, TC continued to receive demands from Delticom to sign the form or pay for the replacement. TC consistently refused, asserting their rights. Eventually, Delticom ceased requesting the form and announced a review of their complaints process to ensure compliance with the Consumer Rights Act[8].

Ireland

[edit]

In Ireland, Eiretyres.com, the counterpart of Mytyres.co.uk, has been operating since 2002. It is owned by Delticom AG directly, and has the estimated revenue of about $3.2 million[9].
