ST Logistics

ST Logistics is an integrated logistics group with operations in four main areas, defense, healthcare, aviation and public sectors. It is currently owned by Toll Group, who was acquired by Japan Post in 2015. Headquartered in Singapore, the company's revenue is over S$350 million and has over 800 employees worldwide as at 2018.[1]

History

ST Logistics began as Chartered Materials & Services Pte Ltd (CMS) in the 1983, and was part of the Chartered Industries of Singapore. It started off as a third-party logistics service provider for Singapore's defense and government sectors. In 1994, CMS was renamed to Singapore Technologies Logistics and became part of the Singapore Technologies Industrial Corporation Group (STIC). In 2006, Singapore Technologies Logistics was re-branded to its current name, ST Logistics Pte Ltd and was acquired by Toll Group to operate public sector businesses.

Defence

ST Logistics is a partner of the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF), providing supply chain solutions to the SAF since its beginning. ST Logistics manages the SAF's supply chain from end-to-end, activities include development, procurement, warehousing, distribution, etc.[2] In 1999, ST Logistics started the first public–private partnership with Singapore's Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) when it was awarded the contract to design, build and operate the Army Logistics Base, a centralized hub to support the SAF's supply chain.[3]

Healthcare

ST Healthcare, is a subsidiary of ST Logistics, its main purpose is to bring value to healthcare institutions and government agencies through improving their healthcare supply chain processes. Key activities in the healthcare supply chain include, improving accessibility of medical equipment and devices, serialization, and value-add services such as repackaging and relabeling. ST Healthcare also manages the Singapore Aeromedical Center, specialized in aviation medicine, it provides medical screening, physiological education and training for pilots or persons whose work is in the aviation industry. Aviation

ST Logistics also provides supply chain solutions and logistical services in the aviation industry. A few key activities include, managing warehousing and stock-taking for Singapore's Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF). STL also manages the retail outlets of the RSAF and end-to-end refueling services for the RSAF and commercial customers.[5]

Public Sector Solutions

The main customers of ST Logistics in their public sector solutions are that of government agencies. Two notable agencies are the Singapore Police Force (SPF) and Singapore's Ministry of Education (MOE). ST Logistics supports the SPF in supply-chain management and event logistics. Similar to the SPF's counterpart in the defence sector, ST Logistics also operates a logistics base for the SPF known as the Police Logistics Base. The MOE is supported in the asset management of more than 180 government schools across Singapore. [6]
