Vanessa González Leal is a Costa Rican singer-songwriter of Pop-Romance-Latin and actress.

Biography[edit]

Vanessa González was born in San José, Costa Rica.

She studied music at the School of Musical Arts of the University of Costa Rica.

Daughter of Jorge González Cordero (administrator) and Iriabelle Leal Arrieta (journalist) from an early age was involved with music since her parents met in the University choir.

She began singing at age 3 and at age 4 her mother took her to a TV contest called "Recreo Grande" of Televisora de Costa Rica, then she was in different choirs such as that of Colegio Calasanz, which was where she studied her primary and high school, he was also in the choir of the University of Costa Rica where she began to study music since she was 5 years old with Violin and Guitar courses. She was also part of the Angelus choir, Catholic choir in which she was for 10 years. After that, she joined singing in the Requete Group animating parties

From small she recorded jingles and wedges for radio and television and participated in the recording of the album by the Angelus group, Voces and singles with Requeté. She was also a guest on the record of the Geovanni Escalante Saxophonist who won the Guinness record in continuous breathing technique.

She made herself known at the large in the Latin American Idol International contest by representing Costa Rica in the second season and although she did not become a finalist she has made her way in the national arena since then with great force. Since that time she has had participation in Costa Rican groups such as Porpartes, Escats, and Arnoldo Castillo among others.

After that, she retired from the stage to take out her career in Architecture and it is in 2013 where she returns to music to devote herself fully to her solo career.

Her first single "OLVIDARME DE TI" managed to position first in the national radios of Costa Rica. Her songs cover themes of love and heartbreak with a positive character.

Her second single "NO MIRO ATRÁS" has a mixture of elements such as color, personality, sarcasm, and mischief; which is shown both in the music and in its videos. This video manages to enter the programming of the Latin Ritmoson music channel which can be seen in more than 60 countries.

In 2015 she was in charge of creating and performing the song 《A tu lado》 which is the main theme of the first Costa Rican soap opera called La María

In 2016 she releases her new single "No iré corriendo" in ballad version and pop version.

In 2017, she was called by Teletica to be one of the contestants of the reality show Tu Cara Me Suena Costa Rica. Also in this year she makes a turn to her career by joining the Urban genre through a Calypso Urban fusion called "Rumba en mi piel" This in order to rescue the Costa Rican musical genres and that is why she delves into the Limonense genre and bring them to the modern times with the urban genre mix. That is why "Rumba en mi piel" is a mixture of a lot of movement, color both musical and visual. Her interest has always been to have a different show that is why he makes a mix of live music and stand up comedy.

He has been a guest artist at the concerts of singers like Depeche Mode, Pandora, Ricardo Montaner, Ednita Nazario, Braulio, Maria Conchita Alonso, Manuel Carrasco, Obie Bermúdez, Pedro Capó and recently with Myriam Hernández.
