"You" is a Latin pop song by Romeo Santos, released as the first single on May 10, 2011 from his forthcoming debut studio album, Formula (2011). It features elements of bachata and R&B, and is sung in Spanish and English. The song debuted at number-one on the US Billboard Latin Songs chart.
Composition
[edit]"You" is a Latin pop song that "combines Bachata with a little bit of R&B" and incorporates the use of acoustic guitars and heavy bass.[1][2] The song's lyrics are sung in both Spanish and English, in what Jody Rosen of Rolling Stone called, an "unearthly falsetto that recalls Aaron Neville's".[3]
Chart performance
[edit]In the United States, "You" debuted on the US Billboard Latin Songs chart at number-one on the issue dated May 28, 2011, replacing Maná's "Lluvia al Corazón".[4][5]
