Gorka Marquez (born 4 September 1990) is a British social media personality, entrepreneur, dancer and author. Marquez began posting videos to his YouTube channel in 2010 which has amassed over 12 million subscribers whilst also launching a second channel in 2012 which has amassed over 6 million subscribers. In 2014, Marquez launched his GMC clothing and underwear range. He has also written and co-written a number of children's books and novels.
In 2017, Marquez competed in the fifteen series of BBC One series Strictly Come Dancing. After being paired with pro dancer Alexandra Burke, he reached the final. In 2019, he became an ensemble dancer for the show, becoming the first contestant to become a dancer after competing. He also hosts the show's official podcast and live tours.
Strictly Come Dancing[edit]
On 21 August 2017, Márquez was announced as a contestant for the fifteenth series of Strictly Come Dancing. He was partnered with professional dancer Alexandra Burke and made it to the final, in which he was beaten by Joe McFadden.

In 2018, Márquez appeared on the Strictly Live Tour! 2018, performing alongside Burke. He returned to the tour as its official host in 2019 and co-hosted the 2020 tour with Series 16 winner Stacey Dooley. In 2019, Marquez was invited to host the Strictly Professional tour, also featuring as a guest dancer.
In 2018, Márquez was featured in the week 2 professional dance becoming the first ever contestant to return to dance alongside the professionals. Since 2019, Márquez has starred on the show as an ensemble dancer, appearing in pro dancer routines on a weekly basis. He is also the co-host of the Official Strictly Podcast alongside Joe Sugg.
