The UPLB Perspective (stylized as [P]) is a student and community newspaper serving the area of Los Baños, Laguna. As the official student publication of the University of the Philippines Los Baños, it contains news and events the UPLB campus. In recent years, it has also covered the greater Southern Tagalog area, aside from its traditional balliwick in Laguna province. Aside from the newspaper's coverage on UPLB and local affairs, it is also known for its focus on issues affecting Calabarzon's trade unions, farmers, fisherfolk and Southern Luzon's national democratic movement.

It succeeded the then-UP College of Agriculture's student newspaper Aggie Green and Gold (AGG) in 1973, in the aftermath of the establishment of UPLB as the UP system's first autonomous university. [1] The Aggie Green and Gold now serves as the newsletter of the UPLB College of Agriculture. [2]
As one of the first newspapers to be established under martial law, the Perspective has gained a reputation for being critical against the national government and what it deems as "anti-student" policies of the UP administration. Due to this, the Perspective faced several instances when its funding was cut and administrators meddled on the selection of its editor-in-chief. [3] Notable alumni include Teddy Casiño and GMA News reporter Oscar Oida.
In recent years, the newspaper has broadened its scope by adding stories about the Southern Tagalog region. A typical issue would contain 12 pages in a tabloid-sized format. A website was established in 2010; it was relaunched on 2013. [1] Investigative pieces were also published, produced by a separate team named [P]robe.[4]
The print edition and website were redesigned in July 2020, with news stories clearly delineated from long-form features. Print copies are usually available for free in frequented locations inside the UPLB campus. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, publication of print issues have been suspended until further notice; all issues are published digitally via Issuu and stories directly into its website.
During the pandemic, the newspaper also branched into broadcasting and podcasts under the moniker [P] Live, comprised of a weekly newscast called Today's Rundown and a lighter infotainment program called Usapang Elbi.[5]
