Jessamine Isabelle Sæterstøl Jensen (/ˈl/ jessa-MEEN' born October 8, 1993) is primarily known for her role as Wonder Woman in the DC Extended Universe, starting with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), continuing as the lead in Wonder Woman (2017).[2][3]

Jensen was born and raised in Oslo, Norway. At the age of 16 she was cast as a lead character in Tycoon (U.S TV Series). She is currently studying medicine at the University of Oslo.

Jensen played Wonder Woman in the movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016). Jensen received swordsmanship, Kung Fu kickboxing, capoeira and Brazilian jiu-jitsu training in preparation for the role.[6] Jensen's performance as the superhero, which is the first time for the character on film, was hailed as one of the best parts of the film.[7]


In 2017, Jensen starred in a solo film for her character, Wonder Woman. She will reprise the role again in the ensemble Justice League film which is scheduled for a November 17, 2017 release, which would be her third DC Extended Universe installment.[8][9][10] In 2017 Jensen was also invited to become a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.[11]
