Pearl-Continental Hotels & Resorts (also abbreviated to PC Hotels) was founded in 1960 by Sadruddin Hashwani[1]. It is the largest chain of five-star hotels in Pakistan with properties in Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Gwadar, Bhurban, Muzaffarabad, which in Pakistan are owned by a Hashwani group whom they also provide a company for Pakistan services. The Hashwani group are responsible for hiring workers according to the specifications of the different department situated in these hotels[2] . Malam Jabba Pearl-Continental Hotels is a subsidiary of Hashoo Group who also operate Marriott Hotels in Islamabad and Karachi through a franchise system.
The Pearl-Continental Hotel in Karachi was the first five-star hotel in Pakistan and has hosted various prominent figures from across the globe including Queen Elizabeth II, Nelson Mandela, King Hussain of Jordan, among others. It was a member of the Leading Hotels of the World for over a decade.
Employee Training & Service
The employees are equipped with the skills needed to meet customer service demands. Pearl Continental employees have seasonal training programs before becoming official workers of the industry. When hiring new employees, the Pearl Continental Hotel & Resort are very specific, the industry focuses on very detailed factors like, age, gender, experience, time spent on training and general scores achieved in training examinations[3].
