My names are James Gitonga Mburugu. I was born in Meru Central District of Meru Kenya Country. That was the late 1970's, my birth place is Abothuguchi. I hail from a place called Kinjo, where my Grandfather M'mugambi wa Munyau acquired and claimed that parcel of land from a forest. Kinjo is at the border-edge between Central Imenti and North Imenti constituencies.

Kinjo has a very unique geographical phenomena since it is astride the Equator. Kinjo is also blessed in that it a place where the two diverse climates mingle and mix well. By that virtue the crops grown in high altitudes areas thrive very well here, tea and plums, potatoes and high altitude maize crops. In addition the lowland crops like mangoes thrive well and Kinjo is the far the Altitude allowed them to grow and thrive in this accent to the mount Kenya. Hence Kinjo is the mixing and meeting point of the lowlands and highlands crops.I was once ridiculed in school for saying confidently that everything grows in our home area. The other students did not take that as a truth until they visited and saw for themselves this uniqueness.

Every morning when I am at home I can clearly see Mount Ithangunein the west and the distant blue hued Nyambene ranges in the East. Kinjo is blessed with ranges and tributaries, like Riiji, Rwairi and Kathima and many more sparkling springs of water. It has also two epsom salts springs. One called Nkiriri and Katheri. These were used in the eons and days gone by to produce salts as well watering holes for the Meru herds of cattle. Today they are just used to quench the thirsts of the passersby, despite of their medicine and healthy values they offer. Epsom salts are used to treat stomach acids and cure for ulcers.

My educational background is as follows. I did my studies at Kinjo Primary from 1983-1989, then proceeded to a Catholic Church Sponsored primary boarding school at St. Martin's Mpuri from 4th Feb 1990 to November 1992 when I completed my K.C.P.E and passed with flying colours. It is here at St. Martin's that I met students from all walks of life and religions. The teachers and the clergy instilled in in us, the virtue of living in brotherhood. It was here where we all discovered that we were all equal regardless of where we hailed from. I was then enrolled for form One at Kanyakine High school another academic giant in Meru Countyand the republic of kenya. This is the school which has produced many prominent people here in Kenya and abroad. It was here in this school where diversity was welcomed and celebrated. I participated in Music which became a venue for traveling and for meeting new people. This was during Kenya Music festivals. I was the Music Club Chairman from year 1994-1996, this enabled me to meet and mingle with aspiring and music inclined students whom we shared the love of music with, this golden opportunity gave me a hand in managing students as we went to far flung places in this country of ours for music festivals and symposiums. After completing my Secondary Education in the year 1996 and attaining my K.C.S.E. Certificate. I stayed home doing menial jobs and that was the time I did fully understand the challenges adults face in the world. Before then everything is provided by the parents and guardians, most of that goes unappreciated by the child. After that stint of seeing what the parents go through. I prayed hard for an opening in academia again and my prayers were answered when I saw myself using the keyboard again, this time a different keyboard which had enormous potential to change the world. That when I was enrolled in The Mombasa Polytechnic University college. Which is now called The Mombasa Technical University By that year 2000 it was known as The Mombasa Polytechnic. I did A Diploma in Computer Studies and got a certificate in Computer Repair and Maintenance. It was the most blissful time in my life, to know and grasp the computer knowledge. This has enabled to get all the knowledge and be in a position to build myself , help the good causes for the love of Flora and Faunaand for the Glory of Jehovah and the expansion of His Kingdom on earth

There goes a legend which says, "The Abothuguchi and Miriiga Imieru do not intermarry or mingle". But that is what did make many of the Abothuguchi people to be left behind in developments, while the Miiriga Imieru ones ventured into businesses and real estates. Kinjo is blessed in that we have been able to mingle with Abothuguchi People whom we belong to and our neighbours the Miiriga Imieru who are our neighbours. Mango grows well in Kinjo but some feet up in Upper Katheri it does not grow at all. The other plants which thrive in high altitudes like tea and plums do well in Kinjo but several meters down in Giteebe they do not because of the lower altitude.

In the working sphere I was attached at Kenya Ports Authority as an Attachee in the then Computer Services Department in the years 2001-2002. It was here that I was empowered to get to know expansive uses and powers of Computers in this Information Communication Technology Age. The Computer Services Department was later changed name to Information Technology Department to incorporate and cater for the needs of the clients. It is among the best ICT departments in the world in terms of efficiency. I was also able to work with Booksfirst Ltd, Technology Associates EA limited, Copycat and others companies in my ICT career.
