Cypherium is a New York based third-generation blockchain startup and smart contract platform, that focuses on enterprise blockchain. In 2017, Sky Guo (CEO) founded Cypherium with the aim of repairing existing shortcomings in blockchain technology, which prevent widespread adoption by organizations and industries[1].

The company, that has established partnerships with all the tech giants - Google[2][3][4], Microsoft[5][6], Amazon[7][8] and IBM[9][10], has developed the world's first cross-chain interoperability solution and has developed a solution to facilitate interoperability between Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs)[11].

Overview[edit]

Cypherium has branded itself as an enterprise blockchain intrastructure platform. Cypherium is a highly scalable and robust smart contract platform, their hybrid design features an improved Practical Byzantine Fault Tolerance (PBFT) consensus mechanism that can achieve thousands of transactions per second[12][13]. Cypherium uses a combination of proof-of-work and HotStuff consensus algorithms (also used by Facebook’s Libra project)[14].

Cypherium Token (CPH) serves to allocate network resources to participants.Cypherium's Gas mechanism resemble to Ethereum's and charge a smart contracting fee, and each CPH represents one share of the total network resources[15] [16].

Cypherium Virtual Machine (CVM) for smart contracts runs on Java (Dalvik architecture), the most widely-utilized and reliable programming language in the world[17].by using this type of lightweight architecture Cypherium virtual machine is enable to operate on mobile devices too[18].

CypherSwap a cross-chain compatible Decentralized Exchange (DEX) based on the Cypherium public chain.CypherSwap is expected to launch by the end of 2020 [19][20].

Cypherium goals[edit]

  1. To enable enterprise use cases for all industries with smart contract platform[21].
  2. To create a secure vault to combat the increasing threats on data privacy[21].
  3. To connect isolated data islands around the world to a trusted database[21].
  4. To create an open network to enfranchise for everyone[21].
  5. To create an instant ledger to process transactions for billions of users in real-time[21].

History[edit]

Cypherium was founded in 2017[22] by former software developers at Google, Microsoft, Amazon and Tencent, whose expertise encompasses cryptography, virtualization, network security and artificial intelligence[23][24]. The first round was conducted in early 2018 (Institutional participants, notably Pantera Capital and Blockfolio, and the Founding Community) - 24$ million[25].
