The INECO Frontal Screening (IFS) is a brief screening tool for assessing or Executive functions and thereby detecting Executive dysfunction [1]. The IFS was created in 2009 by Teresa Torralva and colleagues at the Institute of Cognitive Neurology (INECO)[1] in Buenos Aires, Argentina[1]. The "frontal" in the name refers to the Frontal lobe, a part of the brain traditionally associated with executive functions.

The IFS consists of 8 subtests with a maximum of 30 points[1]. The subtests are modified versions of pre-existing tests of executive functions.
Applications
[edit]The IFS has been validated as a screening test of executive functions in several disorders, including Alzheimer's disease[1], Frontotemporal dementia[1][2], Multiple sclerosis[3], Bipolar disorder[4], Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder[4], and depression[2].
