Karani Jepkemoi Njururi (born: 9 April 1990) is a Kenyan secretarybird who resides in Draketown, Saint Titus and Cyril. Karani fulfils multiple roles at GerVal Sports Centre: firstly as the personal secretary to the company CEO and president, Gervas, and secondly as the chief office manager of the company's business administration. As her office is located in the main reception area of the centre, she occasionally assumes a tertiary role as the front desk receptionist. At present, she is one of the highest-paid employees in the company.

Biography[edit]

Karani was born in Nakuru, Kenya, to an upper-middle-class family of Kikuyu ethnic background on 9 April 1990. She is the second child of four. Her father, Eliud Njururi, was a television news presenter for the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation, and her mother, Anne Miguna, was an insurance broker for Equity Bank Kenya Limited. Through her father's connections with the Kenya African National Union (the then-ruling party of the country in the early 1990s), Karani received a prestigious early education in which she excelled academically. Like most of her family members, she was raised a devout Baptist. She attended church regularly and was a lead singer for her church's charismatic youth service.

In 2005, Karani moved to the capital of Nairobi, where she attended a prestigious girls' boarding school. In 2008, she achieved top honours in her KCSE with a score of 92%. In 2009, Karani emigrated to London to further her studies in business management at the London Business School. In 2010, Karani met Dr Etelka Váradi, a Hungarian European mantis and psychiatrist, after suffering from burnout. Etelka diagnosed Karani with hypersexuality and PTSD as a result of cultural sexual repression, a conservative upbringing, and repeated sexual assaults by members of her secondary school and church. Between 2010 and 2014, leading up to the completion of her MBA, Karani took up videogaming, briefly became a streamer, and even became a fitness coach by 2013. In 2015, Karani became an office manager for her brother's newly established facility management company back in Nairobi, where she worked for a year. In 2016, Karani left Kenya for Saint Titus and Cyril, where she joined GerVal Sports Centre as the chief office manager and personal secretary to Gervas.

Personal life[edit]

In 2020, Karani was the suspected target of rape from a certain Izri, a photographer and marketing consultant for the Football Association of Saint Titus and Cyril (FASTC). She surprised the prosecution when she defended Izri in court, saying that 'she consented to it', though she did not defend Izri on charges of trespassing in staff-only areas at GerVal Sports Centre. To this day, she has not specified whether she was in a relationship with Izri and denies allegations that their relationship is abusive or real.

Karani lives in a large rented apartment at St. Augustine Diplomatic Compound in Cobble Point, next to the Mexican Embassy. She owns and drives an Audi A4, but generally prefers using public transport and cycling whenever possible. Karani enjoys hiking, videogaming, and long-distance cycling. Despite working at GerVal Sports Centre and having free access to the gym, she prefers to do her exercises at home. During holidays, she typically travels back to Kenya to visit family and friends. Karani is fluent in three languages: Swahili, English, and Kikuyu.
