Lawless is an upcoming musical- drama film, written and directed by Terrence Malick and starring Ryan Gosling, Christian Bale, Rooney Mara, Cate Blanchett, and Haley Bennett.

Development[edit]
International sales agent FilmNation Enertainment announced Lawless just prior to the American Film Market in November 2011, along with Malick's Knight of Cups, which also features Christian Bale and Cate Blanchett. [1]
Filming[edit]
Principal photography for Lawless will begin in June 2012 in Los Angeles.[2] The film will be shot back-to-back with Knight of Cups.[1] Malick and a small camera crew filmed Christian Bale and Haley Bennett at the Austin City Limits Music Festival on the weekend of September 16, 2011[3][4], as well as Ryan Gosling and Rooney Mara at Austin's Fun Fun Fun Fest on the weekend of November 4, 2011.[4][5]
