Kazuharu Shinagawa (品川 一治, Kaz Shinagawa, December 25, 1967) is a Japanese creative director, creative producer, and CEO of the ad production company Toboggan Inc. He is commonly referred to by his nickname Kaz. Notable family members include his mother Madame Michiko, younger brother Hiroshi Shinagawa, and grandmother Aiko Yamano.
Career[edit]
Kazuharu Shinagawa was born in 1967 in Shibuya, Tokyo as the first son of Yoshiaki Yamano and Madame Michiko[1]. His grandmother is Aiko Yamano, founder of Yamano Beauty College.
In 1993, Kaz moved to Los Angeles, and two years later founded Kaz Coordination, the predecessor of his current company Toboggan Inc. Kaz Coordination provided production and coordination services for TVC, magazine, and graphics projects. He partnered with major ad agencies and oversaw multi-lingual production projects for large-scale American companies such as AT&T.
He moved back to Japan in 2010 and founded Toboggan Inc with offices in both Tokyo and in LA, providing production and production services for advertising and multinational projects.
Work[edit]
- As a creative director and creative producer, Kaz supports corporations connect Japan and the world through work on corporate advertisements (PR, promotion, TVC, marketing, digital marketing strategy, and branding), content development, and international PR and event promotion.
- In 2021, he founded Crypto& Inc., a creative consulting firm for NFTs.[4]
- In 2022, he extended his career into into the arts field by opening a gallery in Kyoto called SHIJOHAN.
