Alexis Tadié (born in 1963) is an internationally reputed French scholar specialized in English Literature and Postcolonial Studies. He currently teaches English Literature in Paris, Sorbonne University. His scholarship ranges widely over many subjects, including XVIIIth century English Literature, Indian novels, the Middle East, and History of Sports.

From 1982 to 1287 he studied at the École Normale Supérieure (rue d'Ulm) in Paris, where he specialized in English. He went to Oxford as a language assistant, and did a PHD Thesis on Laurence Sterne. He was later a fellow of St Catherine’s College and directeur of the MFO (Maison Française d'Oxford). He went to India, New Dehli, Jawaharlal Nehru University.


His academic works and contributions are numerous and varied, linked to his various travelling experiences.

He is involved in the creation of an original program entitled "Literature and Sport" which aims at putting together schola
