Daljit Singh Uppal was born on (January 01, 1961) and he has written several articles for Des Pardes, a Punjabi weekly newspaper that is published in London, UK. He is a Punjabi writer, author, Poet and he migrated from Punjab to England in 1988.
After he migrated from India to the UK at the age of 18, he started his first job where he was a sewing machine operator at a local factory in Smethwick. He was a very close friend with Tarsem Singh Purewal, a Punjabi editor for Des Pardes, freedom fighter and a revolutionary leader and a key eye-witness to Air India Flight 182 bombing. During his time in UK in the late 90's and presently, he regularly attends social gatherings and press conferences where all the Punjabi writers from around the globe meet and discuss about poetry.
Early Life[edit]
Daljit was born and raised in Littran, in the Jalandhar district. The definition of his name Daljit is (the conqueror of forces) and he was mostly cared and looked after by his Nani. He has one sibling, a brother named Prem Singh and three sisters. Moreover, he has previously conducted a interview with Jarnail Singh, the author of I Accuse book - 1984 Anti-Sikh Violence, a journalist and a politician back in 2012.
