Absorb Software is a Calgary-based technology company that specializes in learning management system (LMS) software. Absorb Software was founded in 2003 as Blatant Media and by 2008 had 11 employees and expected C$2 million in sales.[2] It was renamed in 2017 to align with its flagship product, Absorb LMS, and later in 2017 received $59 million in funding led by Boston-based Silversmith Capital Partners.[3]

Absorb was named on The Globe and Mail's top small and medium-sized enterprises list in 2018, 2019, and 2020.[4][5][6]

In 2020, Absorb announced it would move its headquarters to the TELUS Sky tower in downtown Calgary.[7][8] Absorb also has offices in London, Dublin, Shanghai, Sydney, Boston, Tampa and Salt Lake City.[8]

Products[edit]

Absorb Software's flagship product is its learning management software platform, Absorb LMS. Absorb LMS was named one of the best Online Learning Platforms for business in 2019 by PCMag,[9] who praised its user interface, features, and filtering.[10] Absorb LMS is popular with customers moving from legacy systems because it's configurable to match a company's learning workflow rather than requiring the company to adjust its processes around the LMS.[11]
