The European Correspondent is a digital newsletter on European affairs.[1] The news outlet was founded by the students Julius Fintelmann and Phillipe Kramer. The goal of the news outlet is to create a European public sphere by creating a news source with reporting from all over the continent.[2]
As of January 2024[update] 170 journalists volunteer to report from their countries.[3] Most of these volunteers are students and recently graduated students working on the project as on the side.[2] It won the European Charlemagne Youth Prize in 2023.[4] The leading editor has stated that the news outlet has a Pro-European political alignment.[5]
