Brief Introduction
[edit]Siraha Municipality is located in siraha district of Sagarmatha zone. It is one of the old municipality amoong 58 municipality. When dividing Nepal into 34 district siraha was in saptadi district.Siraha Municipality was established in 2053(BS) composed of 5 VDC namely siraha, maknaha,manpur, basbitta and thangi which was divided into 9 wards.Among 9 wards ward number 1,2,7,8 was made from maknaha vdc. 3,4 and 5 ward was made from manpur.ward number 6 was made from basbitta. Merged VDC
[edit]Now,Siraha Municipality is composed of total 22 wards.It includes Laxminya,Sanhaitha,Lagdigadiyani,Lagdigoth,Hakpara.All these were villages Development Commmittee consisting of 9 wards in each VDC.Now,All have been merged to Siraha Municipality making total 22 wards.Previously,it was having 17 wards.Its area is 94.20 Sq km.Its total population as per 2015 is 82,531.Its headquarter is old Siraha Municipality office.Its neighbour from North is Bishnupur and Arnama Gaupalika,from south is Bihar,India,from West is Dhanusha District,and From East is Aurhi and Arnama gaupalika.It has Hindu,Muslim,Budhist by ethnicity.It has different language speaker,mostlly spoken is Nepali,Maithali,Hindi,Urdu.
