Bookup Bookup Corp. is an American company marketing chess software and ebooks.
The Company
[edit]Bookup was founded in 1984 and was later incorporated in 1991.
The Programs
[edit]Bookup's flagship program is Chess Openings Wizard for Microsoft Windows which is used to model chess openings and test players on their knowledge.
Chess Openings Wizard creates trees of positions so that all transpositions are seen instantly (without reindexing). New trees can be made by importing games in Portable Game Notation (PGN) format.
Chess Openings Wizard is used as a Graphic User Interface (GUI) for chess engines including Crafty, Ruffian, Stockfish, Houdini and most UCI chess engines.
Bookup is also responsible for the programming in MasterChess 7000, a DVD with 1.8 million master games and a playing program.
Note: Chess Openings Wizard, prior to 2002 was called Bookup 2000.
