[3] She has competed in various pageant systems, won 3 crowns and also currently sits as a member on the Board of Directors for Miss Earth USA. Background
[edit]Early life and background
[edit]Bantigue was born in kampanga, Philipines to a Chinese father and Filipino mother. Her parents separated when she was young and she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada with her mother. As a child, Trisha had dreams of being an oncologist. She attended Southwest Career and Technical Academy High School in Las Vegas, where she received straight A’s and was determined to enter a field in the government. Life was difficult in Vegas and she had to move to multiple houses per year with her mother. She worked as manager at McDonalds during High School to help provide for her mother and brother.[4]
College Education
[edit]Bantigue graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Political Science and a concentration in International Relations. During her time at UC Berkeley, she was an independent student and had to work various part-time jobs at companies including Google, InfoScout, and Adobo Nation in order to help pay for her tuition and living costs. She has worked with many non-profit organizations, community leaders, local businesses, as well as the Philippine Consulate in order to make lasting impacts in society. She identifies strongly with her Filipino background, and wants to foster stronger U.S. and Philippines relationships.
Personal life
[edit]Bantigue speaks fluent English and Kapampangan, as well as limited proficiency in tagalog and Korean. Trisha is the epitome of a self-made Filipino-American woman.
Her role models include Jennifer Hyman of Rent the Runway, Queen Elizabeth I, and Catriona Gray.[5]
Bantigue has openly supported breast and ovarian cancer awareness.[6]
Bantigue started dating Nick Huffman (successful real estate investor at The Carlyle Group) on March 7th, 2016. They met as UC Berkeley classmates at Café Strada.
She is a Corgi-fanatic and enjoys spending her free time outdoors exploring or hiking. Her favorite color is silver.
