Inventux Technologies AG ist the first european manufacturer of tandem thin-film silicon solar modules. Its headquarters is in Berlin. Volko Löwenstein is the current CEO of Inventux Technologies. In February 2009 the company had 150 employees.

The company[edit]

Inventux was founded in 2007 by Volko Löwenstein, Christian Plesser, Oliver Rothe and Roland Sillmann in Steinhagen near Bielefeld in Germany. All four founders were previousely managing the business unit 'Solar' at Schüco International KG.
By the end of 2007, the company took over a production hall in Berlin's northeast, which was previousely used by Bombardier and reconstructed it into a modern thin-film solar manufacturing site. The place of business was moved to Berlin in May 2008. The first production line for micromorphous solar modules started operation in October 2008. The official opening [1] by Berlin's mayor Klaus Wowereit took place on December, 4th, 2008.

Products[edit]

Inventux manufactures solely micromorphous solar modules on the basis of silicon. The so-called tandem-modules are a combination an amorphous silicon (a-Si) and a microcrystalline silicon (µc-Si) solar cell.

Manufacturing process[edit]

Inventux deposits a TCO-Layer as front contact by LPCVD, the two absorbers by PECVD and another TCO-Layer as back contact on a glass-superstrate in several process steps.[2]
The monolithic wiring of the single solar cells is achieved by the separation of the deposed layers by Laser ablation.

Market[edit]

The company ships solar modules to customers in Germany, Spain, Bulgaria and the U.S. The export share 2008 was xx %.
