The Black Hole will be a science fiction movie directed by Joseph Kosinski for Walt Disney Pictures. The film will be created by the same team responsible for Tron: Legacy, with Travis Beacham beginning work on the script in early 2010 for an expected release date in 2014.[1][3][4] The film has been described as a "reimagining" of Disney's 1979 movie of the same name.[1] The robot character of Maximillian will be included, along with the USS Cygnus.[1] A more scientifically-accurate black hole will be depicted, and it anticipated that a hard science fiction approach in the manner of 1968's 2001: A Space Odyssey will be adopted.[1][3]
