Blizzard Authenticator is hardware security token (Digipass) developed by Vasco and implemented into Blizzard Entertainment's Battle.net account system to provide a two factor security. The token generates a 6-digit one time password every 30 seconds. This code is used as a second line of defense against hackers. The user first enters their login and password, the system then prompts for the 6-digit code. Upon pressing the button on the devise you recieve the code and are able to enter it into the program. If the code is entered incorrectly you are then kicked to the login screen where you must start over. The password is only valid for one use, providing the extra security against keylogging malware
