Tan Sri Dato' (Dr.) Francis Yeoh Sock Ping PSM CBE FICE (born 23 August 1954) is a Malaysian businessman, and the eldest son of late Malaysia billionaire Yeoh Tiong Lay. He was appointed managing director of YTL Corporation in 1988, and grew YTL Group from a single listed entity in 1985 to five listed companies, one of the largest conglomerates in Malaysia.[1]

How had his primary and secondary school education in Pahang, Malaysia. He obtained a master's degree in Business Administration from now Newport University, United States. He was conferred an honorary doctorate from his alma mater, Newport University. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management FCIM (UK) and Canadian Chartered Institute of Business Administration FMBA.

Career[edit]

He was appointed managing director of Wawasan Plaza since 1994 and CEO of Tang Dynasty Hotel Group since 1997.

How also serves as Group CEO of San Hin Group and AGAPE Superior Living, CEO of AGAPE ATP Corporation and as President of TH3 Holdings[2]

How serves on the Advisory Councils of KL Mandarin JCI Junior Chamber International and Malaysia Entrepreneurs' Development Association (PUMM). He serves as president of Yayasan Bakti Nusa Malaysia, a non-governmental organisation set up to cater to the needs of the local community.

How is one of "Ten Outstanding Young Malaysian (TOYM) Awards" by JCI.

In 2003, How received the "Most Outstanding Young Malaysian Award.[3]

In 2007, How received the "Super Excellent Direct Sales Entrepreneur Award". Also in 2007, he received the "International Honesty Enterprise Keris Award" and "Asia Pacific Super Excellent Brand Award".[2]

In 2008, How was listed in the "Harmony China Top 10 Most Influential Person".

In 2018, How was honored with the prestigious Nanyang Siang Pau 95th Anniversary Outstanding Business Award at the Straits Quay Convention Centre on 12 July 2018.[4]

Personal life[edit]

Yeoh is a devout Christian and has often attributed his success in business to Jesus.[6] His successes and devotion has led to many Christians citing him as an inspiration.[7] Yeoh married Puan Sri Datin Paduka Rosaline Yeoh in 1982 until her death in 2007 and they have five children. His siblings reside in Malaysia and are fellow directors of YTL Corporation. In 2017, Yeoh donated RM 8 million to charity in honour of his father Tan Sri Yeoh Tiong Lay.[8]
