ProData is the company who created DBU database utility, RDB Connect, SQL/Pro and other IBM i software utilities. ProData's solutions are used to improve IBM i programmer productivity within organizations large and small and in all industries worldwide.

History[edit]

ProData was founded in 1982. The company was started in Omaha, Nebraska by Allen Hartley and Marion Wamsat. Throughout most of the 1980s, ProData performed consulting and contract programming services for organizations in the Midwest.

ProData's flagship product, DBU, a database utility, was created in 1985 on the IBM System/38 to address the needs of simple database access. In 1987, DBU was migrated to the IBM AS/400 platform (now known as IBM i). Additional productivity tools were created to help IT departments and end users. These tools were sold throughout the world and helped ProData establish itself as an innovative software company.

As of 2016, ProData has distributed more than 20,000 licenses worldwide.
