[edit]There is a discussion at Talk:List of United States congressional districts related to style of new district-level maps for the post-2013 United States congressional districts. Your input would be appreciated. Thank you. --7partparadigm talk 02:38, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
Hello :)
[edit]Hello Stepheng3. I've seen your user name twice today in my backyard: Fetters Hot Springs-Agua Caliente and the Napa Sonoma Marsh. It seems likely that our paths on-wiki will cross again, so I wanted to introduce myself and let you know that I admire your chickens, among your many other contributions. :) Msannakoval (talk) 05:19, 27 July 2014 (UTC)
- Hi, Anna. I've taken an extended break from Wikipedia, but it seems possible I might become active again soon. Best regards, --Stepheng3 (talk) 17:15, 27 July 2014 (UTC)

[edit]Thanks for your work on St. Helena; that representative template's a pretty interesting one. Is there an easy way to roll that out for other states?--ɱ (talk) 01:27, 26 August 2014 (UTC)
- It's designed to be easy to reuse for other states. Which state(s) do you have in mind? —Stepheng3 (talk) 01:32, 26 August 2014 (UTC)
- Well, I've been writing a few articles on New York municipalities, and thought it might be useful. Do you need to make changes to the existing template for it to work for New York?--ɱ (talk) 21:39, 26 August 2014 (UTC)
- I shouldn't need to alter the existing templates. Let me try creating an nycd dataset and see how that goes. —Stepheng3 (talk) 19:02, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
- OK.--ɱ (talk) 19:24, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
- I had to add a few lines to {{Representative}}, but it was very straightforward. Try it out and let me know if it needs any changes. Best regards,—Stepheng3 (talk) 19:59, 27 August 2014 (UTC)

[edit]Should be easy to put right with AWB. I'll do so now. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 19:57, 1 September 2014 (UTC)
- AWB makes everything easier. Thank you for offering to put things right! —Stepheng3 (talk) 22:02, 1 September 2014 (UTC)
- More than right - if all goes according to plan I should be adding it to some articles that didn't have it before, even. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 00:48, 2 September 2014 (UTC)

Settlement date of Mount Pleasant, Utah
[edit]I fail to see what you want to appear in the infobox of Mount Pleasant, Utah. The history section explains that the first settlement date was 1852, with the later and more permanent settlement a short distance away in 1859. Ntsimp (talk) 21:48, 18 September 2014 (UTC)
- Per WP:V I'm looking for a citation to a reliable source that directly supports the claim that first settlement occurred in 1859. This claim seems dubious to me because the History section also indicates that there were native Americans living in the area, who presumably pre-dated the Mormon colonists.—Stepheng3 (talk) 21:56, 18 September 2014 (UTC)
- So you want the date of the arrival of Native Americans to the area to be given as the "Settlement" date in the infobox? That's not what we do with other American towns. Ntsimp (talk) 22:25, 18 September 2014 (UTC)
- I appreciate your patient efforts to resolve this issue. I'm not responsible for the carelessness of other editors, nor do I wish to be included in that "we". In reference to populated places, a "settled" date is often misleading, because it implies that any prior inhabitants were nomadic. I want Wikipedia to be accurate and verifiable, with verifiability coming first. If you can cite a reliable source which says the first human settlement in the area occurred in 1859, please do so. If the source says "founded a town" or "first White settler" or "colonized by Mormons" or "built a cabin" or "established a post office", the infobox could indicate that using the established_title1 field. If the information cannot be attributed to a known/reliable source, let's delete it. Best regards,—Stepheng3 (talk) 22:46, 18 September 2014 (UTC)

Editing San Luis Obispo
[edit]Hello, I'm new to editing Wikipedia. I noticed that Atascadero was abnormally high in violent crime. I am wondering if this is due to the inclusion of crime committed at the State Hospital. can you please help me to know if I can edit this if confirmed. Or direct me to a resource to show me what I am able to do. 86trebor (talk) 01:41, 5 November 2014 (UTC)

For your continual and tireless work on the California city articles (those are the ones I know about, my hunch is that you have broader interests). It is so refreshing to see your name on edits in my watchlist and know that I don't have to go check whether or not they are correct. You seem to have a deep interest in keeping these articles fresh and up to date. Bravo. Onel5969 (talk) 22:23, 4 December 2014 (UTC) |
