Ted Bobier (full name at birth Teodoro Ramonito Albao Bobier, Jr.) is a Filipino and Canadian artist who works in the styles of realism, abstract expressionism, and cubism. He has been a board member of CARFAC (Representation of Canadian Artists/Le Front des artistes canadiens) since 2006. At the beginning of his career, he was inspired by the paintings of Pablo Picasso and Arshile Gorky. He has participated many times in exhibitions at the Wayne Arthur Gallery.

Childhood and education

Ted Bobier was born May 28, 1964, in San Juan, Metro Manila, Philippines. In 1994, he enrolled at Yuri Arts School in Guadalupe Metro Manila Philippines, Later, he pursued further studies in portrait painting in Harizon Plaza Metro Manila Philippines. In 2004 he took art classes at Forum Art Institute (later renamed Forum Art Centre), Winnipeg Art Gallery (WAG), Winnipeg Technical College (later renamed Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology) and attended various masterclasses and workshops.

Career

Bobier became a board member of CARFAC (Canadian Artists' Representation). In 2006, he became one of the finalists at the Juried Exhibition organized by the Manitoba Society of Artists at City Place Winnipeg.

Ted Bobier's first solo exhibition was held at Wayne Arthur Gallery entitled  "Colour My World" in 2008. There, one of Bobier's large works was purchased by Larry Vikar, CEO and President of Vickar Auto Group in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The painting was later donated to the PCCM ( Philippine Canadian Centre of Manitoba). Due to the success of his first major solo show, it was later followed by his next exhibition in April 2009 and was held at the same gallery entitled "Turning Point". In 2013, Ted Bobier had her one exhibition at the Wayne Arthur Gallery, titled "Paradigm Shift."

Personal life

Ted Bobier has a wife Amy Gonzales Bobier and two daughters. They all reside in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
