Dr. Neil Patel (born 1989) is a medical device and digital health innovator and entrepreneur, specializing in the field of medical robotics.

Early life and education

Neil was raised in South Florida where he attended Martin County High School. Neil had a short stint in Los Angeles to attend the California Institute of Technology as a Presidential Scholar with a full academic scholarship. He later went on to complete his bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science at Duke University, before going to dental school at Nova Southeastern University to earn his D.M.D. degree.

Career

During the start of his career, Neil helped grow a struggling nonprofit in his hometown of Stuart, Florida. He provided free and discounted dental services to the indigent and under-served population in his local community for three and a half years. After leaving his role at the nonprofit, he decided to enroll at Northwestern University. Neil is currently a student at Kellogg and the McCormick School of Engineering pursuing both an engineering masters in design innovation as well as an MBA. Neil currently serves as the CEO of two innovative dental companies, [Smile Club] and Spartan Surgical . Smile Club is an innovative dental startup that is both a novel Dental Service Organization and discount plan. This DSO is poised to shake up the $140 billion dollar US dental industry. His team consists of Uber, Brighter, Apple, Google, and Intuitive Surgical alums as well as dentists and MBAs with years of industry experience. Neil's other company, Spartan Surgical, is a futuristic stealth stage robotic surgery company that will radically transform the dental industry. Neil is passionate about combining his engineering knowledge and clinical expertise with his vision to design solutions that will go on to democratize access to quality dental care. To support innovation in healthcare, Neil specifically wants to focus in the areas of digital, laser, and robotic dentistry as well as biomedical imaging and digital health.
