User:Throbert McGee

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Throbert McGee is a nom d'écran that Rob McGee made up circa 1998 on Salon.com's Table Talk and has used ever since.

Throbert was raised Catholic, but started to drift towards atheism in his teens, and was a Randroid for a couple years in college. (He got better, though.) Nowadays he wavers among atheism, agnosticism, and Deism, depending on which day of the week it is. Judaism fascinates him, and he thinks it makes somewhat more sense than Christianity, but doesn't see himself making a formal conversion anytime soon. (Why give up bacon cheeseburgers for a G-d whose existence is speculative?)

He's a grown-up military brat, was born in Bangkok (nomen est omen?), and before starting high school he'd lived in Gitmo, Turkey, and Okinawa. Он говорит по-русски, but not as fluently as he'd like.
